Awards Program

    AWARDS PURPOSE & INTENT

    The purpose and intent of the Incident Management Teams Association Awards Program is to recognize those individuals and teams that work tirelessly and go above and beyond the contributions of a normal member, to advance the mission of the IMTA or support the IMTA.

    AWARDS SELECTION COMMITTEE

    • The awards selection committee shall be chaired by a member of the IMTA Membership Committee.
    • The Board of Directors shall each appoint one representative from each region to sit on the awards selection committee.
    • The Chair of the Membership Committee shall appoint additional Membership Committee members as needed to sit on the awards selection committee.
    • The awards selection committee shall meet and review all awards submissions, choose the best candidate(s), and present those selections to the Board of Directors Executive Committee for final approval.

    2024 AWARDS PROGRAM TIMELINE

    • Monday, November 4, 2024 Award Nominations Open

    • Friday, December 20th, 2024 | Award Nominations Close @ 2:00pm EST

    • Friday, January 3rd, 2025 Awards Committee Selection Deadline

    • Monday, January 6th, 2025 | Candidates Presented to IMTA Board

    • Wednesday, January 8th 2025 | Order Awards

    • Wednesday, February 26th, 2025 | Present Awards

    AWARDS SUBMISSIONS

    • Awards submissions shall be submitted electronically using a form built in Survey 123, Microsoft Forms, or a similar platform.
    • Awards submissions shall be open for a period of two weeks.
    • Any IMTA member is eligible to submit nominations.
    • The Membership Chair and the IMTA Administrator shall verify that each candidate is an IMTA member in good standing.
    • For awards with time requirements, the determining date shall be the first day of the month in which the Symposium takes place (e.g. March 1, 2024)

      IMTA Presidents Award

      Eligible Members:
      Anyone as determined by the IMTA President

      Selected By:
      IMTA President

      Award Criteria:
      As determined by the IMTA President. This is IMTA's highest award, and is awarded at special circumstances.

      Number of Awards:
      As determined by the IMTA President Award Presented

      Incident Management Team Special Recognition Award

      Eligible Teams: 
      Any IMT with at least two IMTA members

      Selected By:
      Awards selection committee

      Award Criteria:
      This award recognizes the achievements of an Incident Management Team that exemplifies & bolsters the mission of the Incident Management Teams Association.

      Number of Awards:
      One

      IMTA Member of the Year Award

      Eligible Members: 
      Any IMTA member for more than 24 months

      Selected By:
      Awards selection committee

      Award Criteria:
      At the heart of IMTA are those individuals who give so freely of their time to further the IMTA mission. This award acknowledges an outstanding individual for their extraordinary efforts in helping their fellow incident management professionals by supporting IMTA.

      Number of Awards:
      One

      IMTA New Member of the Year Award

      Eligible Members:
      Any IMTA Member for less than 24 months

      Selected By:
      Awards selection committee

      Award Criteria:
      This award recognizes the contributions of a member that has joined in the last 24 months and has gone above and beyond the role of a regular member in support of IMTA.

      Number of Awards:
      One

      IMTA Student Member of the Year Award

      Eligible Members: 
      Any IMTA Student Member

      Selected By:
      Awards selection committee

      Award Criteria:
      This award recognizes the contributions of a student member that has gone above and beyond the role of a regular member in support of IMTA.

      Number of Awards:
      One

      IMTA Recruitment Award

      Eligible Members: 
      Any IMTA Member

      Selected By:
      IMTA Administrator & Membership Chair

      Award Criteria:
      This award recognizes the top three individuals who brought in the most new IMTA members in the previous calendar year.
